Note to Self: flash.net.URLLoader is not very forgiving.

After spending the last 30 minutes trying to figure out why a flash app I’m working on was not recognizing the first of several variables in a url encoded name/value string…

In one of my php include files there was one (ONE) whitespace after a closing php tag. And so there was one whitespace in the final php output. A whitespace that neither IE or Opera showed. It only showed up in source view.

And so the brilliant URLLoader was naming the variable “%40username” instead of “username”. Took awhile to debug since running the swf in debug mode caused a sandbox security violation that would halt the program and direct me to make changes to my security policies. Which I did. Which had no effect except to make all of the keyboard shortcuts in flash cease functioning (?!). Thankfully, flash apparently doesn’t check for security violations unless you’re in debug mode.

So after restarting (to restore flash’s keyboard shortcut functionality), a simple (non-debug mode) trace of the Event.target.data showed the mangled variable: “%40username”.

 Ahh well.

Adderall Observation

Filed under: Adderall — Anthony @ 12:26 am

In response to an email from family member asking “So, what’s up with you?”

—————————————————————————————————————-

The Flu. But not just any Flu…

Fludderall.

A most unpleasant viral/central nervous system stimulant hybrid. Let me tell ya – I pretty much literally wanted to simply die last night. I laid awake for 8 hours, on the brink of vomiting, curled up in a little ball because any other position exacerbated my flack ache (“back ache due to flu”). Throw in alternating hot flashes and cold sweats and top it off with a racing mind…

Fludderall.

Needless to say, I feel like a … hmmm… big piece of poop today. Did finally get some sleep though.

I didn’t have any more adderall than normal – but I have noticed before that it seems to linger in the system much longer when I’m sick.*

My 4th on Adderall made the same observation about “Adderall lingering” and the onset of sickness. It is very noteworthy that, this time around, like last time, I took a very large dose of vitamin C the day before. Of course, acid in the stomach has a major effect on adderall’s absorbtion (to the extent that the adderall instructions warn not to take with antacids as it is easier to overdose). But a day after? Interesting.
